Book Cover and Interior Designer

Job Overview

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Book Cover and Interior Designer to join our creative production team. In this role, you will format interior layouts and design book covers that align with both the author’s vision and publishing platform requirements. The ideal candidate brings expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite and experience preparing files for platforms like KDP and IngramSpark. You'll work closely with Project Managers to ensure all designs meet our professional standards and brand consistency across print and digital mediums.

Responsibilities

• Format book interiors efficiently, following established style guides and print specs
• Design high-quality book covers aligned with genre, author vision and market trends
• Prepare and export print-ready and digital-ready files for platforms such as KDP and IngramSpark
• Collaborate with project managers, authors and editors to implement design feedback
• Maintain accuracy and consistency in design elements, typography and layout styles

Job Qualifications and Skills Set

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Deep understanding of layout tools (e.g., paragraph/character styles, indexing, baseline grids)
• Ability to prepare and troubleshoot files for both print and digital publishing
• Experience in book publishing or formatting preferred
• Familiarity with KDP and IngramSpark (a plus, but not required)
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• High attention to detail and commitment to deadlines
