Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Book Cover Designer to join our dynamic publishing team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for designing book covers that are not only visually compelling but also optimized for both print and digital platforms such as Amazon KDP and IngramSpark. You'll collaborate with project managers and authors to translate ideas into professional cover designs that align with industry trends and the author’s creative vision.

Responsibilities

• Design custom book covers that are visually appealing and genre-appropriate.
• Collaborate with project managers to align cover design with author goals and publishing requirements.
• Apply feedback efficiently and ensure all artwork meets production standards for both digital and print formats.
• Prepare print-ready files optimized for platforms like KDP and IngramSpark.
• Maintain consistency in branding, typography, and visual hierarchy across multiple formats.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

• 5+ years of experience in professional graphic design, with a focus on book layout and cover design.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite—especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
• Advanced knowledge of InDesign tools, including paragraph/character styles, TOCs, grids, indexing, and footnotes.
• Experience creating files for both print and digital platforms.
• Familiarity with Amazon KDP and IngramSpark publishing guidelines is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and responsiveness to feedback.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail, layout balance, and visual storytelling.
