Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and healthcare inquiries over the phone. You will use EMR platforms such as Athena or ECW to assist with patient intake, documentation, and scheduling. Success in this role requires excellent communication, strong comprehension of medical terms, and attention to detail in managing sensitive patient information.

 

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls professionally and promptly for a US-based general medicine clinic
  • Assist patients with inquiries, appointment coordination, and general support
  • Input and retrieve information using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Athena or eClinicalWorks (ECW)
  • Understand and use medical terminology to communicate clearly and accurately
  • Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy in all interactions
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure seamless patient support and follow-up

 

Job Qualifications and Skills Set

  • Strong spoken and written English skills
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Athena, ECW, or similar
  • Good understanding of medical terminology and healthcare workflows
  • Reliable, professional phone presence and clear communication

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
  • Ability to work within a team and handle sensitive information with care
  • Quick learner and comfortable working in fast-paced environments
