Job Overview

The Health Information Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate processing and handling of patient information within the healthcare system. This is a non-customer-facing, back-office position focused on insurance enrollment, documentation management and administrative accuracy. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and highly proficient with Microsoft Office Tools and PDF management software.

 

Responsibilities

  • Enroll patients into insurance systems accurately and efficiently
  • Handle sensitive health information and documentation in compliance with data protection standards
  • Edit, compile, and manage PDF files and patient records
  • Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for organizing and tracking data
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve enrollment or document issues
  • Ensure timely submission and organization of healthcare forms
  • Maintain high attention to detail in verifying data and file consistency

 

Job Qualifications and Skills Set

  • Proven experience in healthcare administration, insurance enrollment, or a similar back office role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • Skilled in handling and editing PDFs
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of working independently
