Image Specialist

Job Overview

As an Image Specialist, you will be responsible for editing vendor-supplied product photos to meet quality standards and preparing them for upload across e-commerce platforms. You'll manage large batches of image files, ensuring each is web-optimized and appropriately named, categorized and compressed. Your work directly impacts the online shopping experience and visual consistency of the brand.

This is a fast-paced role requiring precision, speed and strong organizational skills—perfect for candidates who enjoy working behind the scenes to make product listings visually compelling and professionally polished.

Responsibilities

• Edit and optimize product images in Adobe Photoshop (background removal, shadows, color correction, resizing compression)
• Prepare image assets for use on product pages and marketing platforms
• Search vendor website or PDFs for missing images or alternatives when assets are incomplete
• Upload final files via FileZilla (FTP) to internal servers
• Manage large-scale image workflows and maintain and maintain organized directories across projects
• Use CSV files to update and manage image data in systems like NetSuite or Magmi
• Collaborate cross-functionally via Google Drive and task platforms like Basecamp
• Ensure timely delivery of optimized images for hundreds/thousands of SKUs

Job Qualifications and Skills Set

• B.A./B.S. or A.S. in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, or related field
• 2+ years of experience editing and managing product imagery for e-commerce or digital retail
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
• Strong experience with FileZilla or similar FTP tools
• Confidence using Excel or Google Sheets for CSV-based uploads
• Highly organized, efficient, and capable of handling bulk image tasks
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

Preferred

• Experience with NetSuite, Magmi, or e-commerce CMS platforms
• Background in image SEO best practices
• Familiarity with project/task tools like Basecamp
