Interior Designer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our publishing team. This full-time role involves formatting book interiors for print and digital distribution. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite—especially InDesign—and comfortable working with print guidelines and layout styles. You’ll work closely with Project Managers to bring authors’ visions to life while ensuring high production quality across platforms such as Amazon KDP and IngramSpark.

Responsibilities

• Format book interiors according to established style guides and print/digital specs.
• Collaborate with production teams to implement feedback and maintain layout standards.
• Finalize print-ready files for publishing on platforms like KDP and IngramSpark.
• Apply consistent design using paragraph/character styles, grids, and indexing tools.
• Adapt designs for multiple formats (print, EPUB, PDF) while maintaining quality.

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

• Expert in Adobe InDesign, with strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proficient with advanced InDesign features: paragraph/character styles, TOCs, grids, indexing, and footnotes.
• Experience designing for both print and digital publishing formats.
• Familiarity with KDP and IngramSpark platforms is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in layout work.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
• Able to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines in a production workflow.
