Job Overview

The Retail Sales Manager plays a critical role in expanding retail operations by managing existing partnerships, prospecting new business opportunities, and developing scalable retail strategies. The focus is on helping brands transition from primarily direct-to-consumer (D2C) models to omnichannel retail distribution, maintaining brand consistency across platforms, and maximizing profitability through strategic account management and promotional planning.

The ideal candidate will have experience navigating both e-commerce and traditional retail, offering an adaptive approach that meets the specific needs of various retail partners while maintaining strong brand standards.
 

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing retail accounts and strengthen long-term relationships to optimize sales performance.
  • Prospect and close new retail partnerships to grow retail footprint and expand into new markets.
  • Align retail sales activities with promotional calendars, seasonal trends, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop scalable retail strategies to transition brands from D2C to successful omnichannel distribution.
  • Work closely with marketing and operations teams to maximize brand consistency across channels.
  • Monitor and adapt strategies to meet the evolving needs of individual retail partners.
  • Bridge ecommerce success with physical retail expansion, ensuring smooth integration and brand alignment.

 

Job Qualifications and Skills Set

  • Experience managing retail accounts, partnerships, and promotional planning.
  • Strong background in business development, retail sales strategy, and account growth.
  • Understanding of both direct-to-consumer (D2C) and omnichannel retail environments.
  • Ability to manage and optimize seasonal sales calendars and promotional events.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with brands undergoing transition from e-commerce/D2C into retail.
  • Familiarity with retail sales dynamics across both small and large retail chains.
