Patient Accounts Receivable Specialist, Spanish Bilingual (Night Shift, Onsite)
Patient Accounts Receivable Specialist, Spanish Bilingual (Night Shift, Onsite Cebu)
Cebu City, Central Visayas, Philippines
Patient Accounts Receivable Specialist, Spanish Bilingual (Night Shift, Onsite Cebu). You speak and write Spanish and English with confidence, and you want to use both every day.
You will be the voice patients hear when they call about a medical bill, in English and in Spanish. On a dedicated team in Cebu that handles patient accounts receivable for a United States healthcare revenue cycle company, you take inbound and outbound calls about patient accounts and medical bills, explain balances and statements clearly in the language the patient prefers, help with payment questions, and document every interaction accurately in English. Night shift aligned to United States business hours, onsite in Cebu Business Park, Monday to Friday.
What success looks like
Twelve months in, patients end your calls understanding their bill and what happens next, whether the call ran in English or in Spanish. Your explanations of charges, payments and balances are clear the first time in both languages, your account notes are complete and accurate, and your quality scores hold steady week after week. You handle a worried caller with the same patience as an easy one, protect patient information on every call, and follow the account procedures exactly, so the team lead can trust your accounts without a second check.
What you will do
- Handle inbound and outbound calls regarding patient accounts and medical bills, in English and in Spanish.
- Switch between the two languages as the patient prefers, and keep every account note in English.
- Assist patients with questions and concerns about their outstanding balances, billing statements and account details.
- Explain patient bills, charges, payment information and account balances in a clear and professional manner.
- Address billing-related concerns while keeping empathy and professionalism.
- Process or assist with payment-related inquiries when needed.
- Document patient interactions and account updates accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling patient and account information.
- Follow established procedures and ensure accurate handling of patient accounts.
- Help the team with Spanish-language call scripts or letters when asked.
What we are looking for
- Fluent Spanish and English, spoken and written. Comfortable holding a full phone conversation about money in Spanish with a native speaker; we test this in the screening call.
- At least 1 year of voice customer service experience. Patient accounts receivable, medical billing or healthcare customer service experience is preferred; strong bilingual candidates from other voice accounts are welcome, and we train the healthcare part.
- Experience in payment processing is preferred but not required.
- Able to put complex billing information in simple, easy-to-understand terms, in both languages.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional, patient and empathetic when handling patient concerns.
- Able to work independently and follow established processes.
- Living in Cebu, or willing to relocate to Cebu, and available onsite in Cebu Business Park on the night shift, Monday to Friday.
Preferred background, and candidates with experience in any of these are encouraged to apply: Spanish-language customer service, sales or collections accounts (BPO or in-house); Patient Accounts Receivable; Medical Billing; Healthcare Customer Service; Patient Billing and Collections; Revenue Cycle Management (RCM); Healthcare BPO voice accounts; Spanish language graduates and DELE B2 or higher.
You may know this role as: Bilingual Patient Account Representative, Spanish Customer Service Representative, Spanish Bilingual Collections Representative, Medical Billing Specialist (Spanish), Spanish-speaking Healthcare Customer Service Representative, or Revenue Cycle Representative.
Who does well here
The people who do well on this team listen first, explain simply, and stay calm and kind when a caller is worried about money. They move between Spanish and English without losing the thread, and they explain a bill the same simple way in both. They are exact with account notes and payment details, because a small error costs a patient and the team time. They protect patient information without being reminded, follow the procedure even when a shortcut is tempting, and ask when something is unclear rather than guessing. They show up for every shift on time and keep the same standard on the last call of the night as on the first. They are open to new tools, including AI tools that take the routine parts of the job off their plate, and they tell the team lead before a problem becomes a complaint, not after.
What you get: Salary appraisals; HMO and health insurance; night differential and holiday premium pay; service incentive leave upon regularization; a Monday to Friday schedule with weekends off; stable full-time employment as a direct hire, with real opportunity and growth; and a healthy work environment with employee engagement activities.
How we hire: apply here. Every applicant gets a reply. The process is a screening call in our evening that includes a short conversation in Spanish, a short assessment, an interview with the account manager, and a final interview with the client's team by video on our shift. We aim to move within days, not weeks.
